Sizzling Summer!

Hey y'all!

It has been to long since I have written, busy summer I had!
As you know, for the majority of the summer I was working on my second course, Nutrition for sport and exercise and then I went to Ontario for a visit!  I had amazing time, visiting family and friends, an awesome break for sure.  I have uploaded a picture of my Dad and brother plus my grandparents and I :)

I took my Nutrition for sport and exercise course exam yesterday and I am pleased to announce that I passed with flying colours! :)  So now I am going to start Anatomy and Physiology course and Nutritional Sciences starting next week. So excited!

I'll definitely keep you posted on how that is going!

P.S. Video of me playing "Right here waiting" by Richard Marx coming soon! :)

Juicing up summer!

Hey y'all!

How is everyone's summer going?  Mine is going great! I am more than halfway through my Sports nutrition course and should be done next month! It also has been nice weather here on the rock!

Today, since it is in the middle of the summer, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce juicing fruits and vegetables.  I started juicing vegetables about a month or two ago, and it comes with a ton of benefits. You can buy juicers at your local department store. It also cools ya down since it is summer and all!  You get tons of vitamins and minerals just by drinking a single glass!  But remember, to get a full glass you will need to juice more watery vegetables/fruits and lots of them! Juicing just vegetables is so healthy but isn't always pleasant to the taste buds... so putting an apple or strawberries or even red peppers into the mix will sweeten it up!

I am currently learning "Right here waiting" by Richard Marx on the piano and when I get it al finished, I will definitely post a video of me playing it!

  Peace for now!

P.S. This post is my opinion only.

First day of summer update!

Hey y'all!

I know it's been a while since I have written, I have been very busy!
A few weeks ago I had my home school graduation. The three high school graduates walked in together and received certificates and  new Bible devotional! I performed by playing the piano and they showed a slide show of pictures of the graduates over the last 12 years!  It was so much fun!
A few days after that, there was a graduation ceremony with my church! I got a NLT bible, which is so useful!
This past weekend, I went on a church retreat and looked after the 4 and under kids while the sessions were going on. I love little children and enjoyed being a help with them! :)
My course is going really well and I am learning so much!

I will continue to write throughout the summer and I have some recipes and events I will like to share with you!

      Peace for now :)

May= productive month for me!

Hey y'all!

May has been such a busy month for me!

On Victoria day weekend I went to a christian youth camp! We had games, sessions, sports, small groups and awesome food! I had so much fun, as always. This year's theme was Star trek: Boldly go. It was awesome, because I am a huge fan of Star Trek, so I knew a few of the trivia questions that were used for some of the games!

A week ago, I passed my road test! Now I am officially a licensed driver. So excited!

I have another busy month in June, lots of graduation celebrations, and church retreats!  I`ll keep you posted :)

  Peace for now!

P.S I would like to wish my mom a Happy Bleated Birthday :)

Spring is the time for exciting things!

Hey y'all!

I have a few things to write about today!

First, this past weekend, I had an amazing time in central newfoundland with my other homeschool friend at our graduation! I had so much fun, and got some really cool gifts! We wore cap and gowns, got our high school certificates, acted out a funny skit and had amazing food with awesome friends and family!  It was a very enjoyable weekend. It was really worth the six hour drive. I have attached a photo of it.

Second, today I wrote my final exam for The Natural Health Fundamentals course and I think it went very well. I have now finished one course out of seven, so excited! So now I am going to start The Sports and fitness Nutrition program. I am sure learning a ton!

Also, if you have any suggestions of some awesome recipes, Send them along ,I would love to see them!

May is turning out to be a crazy busy month. I have some more exciting things coming up in the next few    weeks, and I will be sure to write about them soon!

  Peace! :)

Exercise: The key to energy!

Hey y'all!

I hope everyone is doing good!

So yesterday I went for and 8km (5 miles) walk in just a little more than a hour. It was so refreshing and relaxing! But of course I was a tad bit tired when I got back!
Exercise is so much fun, really good for you, and helps you maintain your goal weight! Did you know it also increases your energy and boosts your mood tremendously? Yes, it may not seem like it, but even if you don't feel like going anywhere... once you get up and go for even a little one, it refreshes you immensely!  Just don't forget to stretch before and after! Warming up and cooling down is also so important to make sure your muscles aren't sore the next day!  Just be careful while doing so. :)

   Peace for now! :)

P.S. This is simply my opinion.

Need a Chocolate fix?

Hey y'all!

I hope everyone had a great Easter!
Today I wanted to introduce the amazing taste of organic dark chocolate! It melts in your mouth and has a rich, yummy taste! Organic products are always the way to go and dark chocolate is actually very healthy! Who could say no to healthy chocolate? Just as long as you don't go over board! So next time you crave the sweet treat try 70% or more of organic dark chocolate!

Peace for now! :)

Shake it up...... green style!

Hey y'all!

So today I thought I would share this amazing recipe that my mom and I absolutely love. :)   It is called a green smoothie... sound gross? It actually isn't! You can put whatever ingredients you can think of (as long as you stick to fruits and vegetables)! Greens such as spinach, roman lettuce, and/or kale should be put in at all times because it wouldn't be a green shake with out them ( you can never taste them though, you can only taste the fruit that is put in them.. especially if you put bananas in it)!
Make sure to also put in a fibrous fruit such as bananas or strawberries because they tie and mix everything together and prevent the shake from clumping up.
Putting cold water in it makes it more of a drink base and the more you put in, the more watery it will be...    so it is best to put about 3/4 of a cup give or take.
Put all of the ingredients in a blender, make sure the top lid is on tight and then blend on high until it       looks all blended through.
It doesn't always come out green either... if you put lots of strawberries and raspberries in it,  it will turn out dark red!

I have attached a pic of a green smoothie we made( made with spinach, kale, bananas, apples and cold water)

They are so delicious plus nutritious at the same time!

  Enjoy!

   Peace for now :)

P.S. This is simply my opinion.

Lemon Feta Chicken!

Hey y'all!

So today I have an amazing recipe for you!  It is called Lemon Feta Chicken, and it goes really well with the salad I  first mentioned here

1) Slice chicken breast horizontally
2) Slice thick slices of feta cheese and place on chicken
3) Next, sprinkle some sea salt and dill weed over feta cheese
4) Sprinkle it all with fresh lemon juice
5) Bake in oven at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes

  Pictured below:

Fresh new twists to your salad.

Hey y`all!

So tonight I thought I would talk about something yummy as well as healthy my family has enjoyed for a few weeks now.

Tired of that plain garden salad? And would like to switch it up? After salad is made(awesome ingredients that go well are Lettuce, red and green pepper, broccoli, red onion, mushrooms and cucumber or whatever works well with your taste buds)...cut up a few blocks of feta cheese into a shredded like appearance and toss in salad , then sprinkle a little bit of the spices dill weed  oregano. Next, cut open a lemon and squeeze lemon juice all over the top of the salad. Lemon is a great liver detoxifier and adds a interesting, fresh twist to your plain old garden salad! Enjoy(:

What's next?

Hey y'all!

So as you know,at the moment, I am studying to be a CNC through The Alive Academy of Natural health. So what are my plans after? Well I am not completely sure at the moment... but i would like to study to be a Massage Therapist and maybe set up my own practice of Health consulting. How did I become interested in Massage Therapy? Well same kind of a deal as my interest in Holistic Nutrition.

About a couple of years ago when my mom was at her most critical point of her health issues, I found a way to make her feel better.. at least a little bit anyway. Since my mom's hand was aching i decided to rub it...she enjoyed it and it made her feel a bit better and I enjoyed making her feel better. I would love to make people feel better and that is why i am aiming for a career of being a CNC and in a few years, a Massage Therapist.

     Peace for now! :)

To diet For!

Hey y'all :)

Today i thought i would recommend an awesome program! It may not be for everyone but I know for me and my family this diet is working wonders. It has given me new found energy and has just over all made me feel better. There are four books--one for each blood type(A,B,AB and O). The picture i have attached is the B type book, but like i said use according to your blood type. So i just thought i'd share what has given me a tremendous amount of energy and made me feel overall healthy!

P.S.....I have made a new poll on my blog down at the bottom of the home page and i will be posting a new one weekly! :)

Well that's all for now. Peace for now :)

Natural Health-- how I became interested.

Hello y'all! So I am almost all registered and ready to start my nutrition consulting  program! By now you're probably wondering how it all started... when i became interested in the natural health field.
Well, it all started four years ago when my mother started to have several health issues. Of course her first instinct(not knowing where to turn) she went to the hospital and doctors to find an answer to get her back together. She went  to different doctors, who didn't know what the problem was at all. They prescribed medications that didn't make it better they just arose new symptoms and made her feel even worse. So with her last hope she decided to try a Naturopath(Which she had recommended to her). Both my mother and I saw a huge difference in her health. She was getting her energy and motivation back. It was amazing how she felt and how much she improved in little time. Just last year I thought i had nothing to lose going to see a Naturopath, since I was always feeling tired and sluggish. I would say like a week after I saw the Naturopath... i started feeling a lot better and just more alive. Today, my mom is feeling so much more better than a few years ago.. and she is improving each day. For myself, I am convinced it's the best healing out there. I have felt a lot better and don't get as many colds as what i did. And plus it's not like a regular nutrition diet...( I can even eat a little bit of chocolate!) :)
